Hello,
I bought me 4 of these huge muds.
265 x 70 x R17 Mastercraft Courser, made by Cooper Tyres
.
.
.
I think they are th best part of 32 inch overall diameter,
.
I just need to get a spare set of 17 inch rims.

Thanks mate. How do you get them to Norway? I've been trying to find a cheap tyre place up in our neck of the woods. |

Hi Dave,
Firstly there are no cheap tyres in Norway
They are not in Norway just yet.
Just at my house in UK.
I have the BFG A/T on in Norway, and When I drive back to UK, I will see about putting the mud's onto some rims.
I am finding it difficult to find 4 x second habd 17 inch alloys.
Until then, the mud's will have to stay 'un-mounted'

Ah, I see now. I had a problem getting rims for my 80 here. In the end I just went to the local dealer and got a set of genuine steels. I think they were £80 each - but they're the right size/offset/centre hole size/use same wheel nuts etc, and didn't turn to rust at the first sight of salt. It might be your easiest and best option.
Which way do you drive to england? I usually drive across the oresund, ferry to puttgarden, straight down to the channel tunnel, and back to lovely england. But I do take the dogs, so that rules out most of the ferries, and I lived in the south of england. From my house here it's exactly 1000 miles, and takes 22 hours door to door, including dog poo breaks. |

Have any of you heard if the Stavanger route will reopen? Is there any ferry alternative to the Harwich - Denmark - Norway route for getting to Norway's west coast? _________________ 97 SWB Prado, 79 BJ40 |

Being in Oslo, it is all too easy for me to pick up the phone and call DFDS here in Oslo.
I get the same answer every time, for the past 12 9 months.
'We are not going to restart'
Looks like they (DFDS) ars sticking to their word.
To be honest there are 2 decent ways.
1. Drive to Harwich, this is the biggest hassel, if your like me, based around Liverpool / Manchester area, get DFDS to Esbjerg, then either drive acrodd Denmark to Sweden (Malmo) and right up the E6.
The E6 is a great road, no fuss, right into Oslo, Norway.
2. As before, but drive to the northern tip of Denmark, takes 4,5 hours, then either ferry to Larvik for Oslo destinations, or ferry to Kristiansands, for west coast destinations.
The drive from Larvik to Oslo is 2,5 hours.

Cheers Vette,
We're heading for Stoord, near Stavanger in the summer. I'm looking forward to the driving in Skandinavia but there's nothing in between I want to see...

real pain that ferry route being axed, we used DFDS to get from Newcastle to Bergen,
then drove upto Trondheim, then spent 10 days driving around the fjords and back down to Geilo, some good mtb biking there
did some fishing for Oret? trout, but had no luck
there was talk of opening a Rosyth > Kristiansund route, but mainly for freight intially _________________ -------------------------------------------------
