Are you happy with Alloys rather than steel?? |
I did have a set of Steels but reading up it seems these OEM alloys are very strong and up to the job.
I picked up a set of six as well for £150.00.
Then blasted them all off and powder-coated them grey, £150.00.
Tyres we a bit of a problem ordered 4 Hankook 295 x75 x 16 came no problems now been told I have to wait 8 weeks for the other two. Take note Hankook you are low down in the pile for thank you's.
The New springs and shockers arrived today so they will be fitted next week. It came with adjustable shocks with normal and sport settings but one shock was total US.
Toyota wanted £280 for 1 shock and I needed a pair so it was better to go with OME stuff.
I am not sue about the side back windows being sprayed out but getting use to it.

What is the trad depth on the Hankooks when new? As I am looking at them to replace the ones I have now.

.
For what it's worth,
I will also be staying with the Toyota OEM wheels.
I will be taking an additional full matching wheel and tyre, total 6.
265 x 70 x R17 BFG A/T
I have a few OEM 17 inch rims at home, and before I leave, I will fit another BFG A/T to one of the rims.
This could be DHL 'd to me if I am misfortunate to damage more than 2 rims or tyres beyond repair.

HI Paul
I have measured the depth at 19mm. They are not noisy on the road and behave quite well. Not done any hard work off road yet but the write ups seem good.
Last weekend was fitting OME shocks and springs. Had a few of my bars powder-coated as well.
I have had my injectors tested and they were 40% down so they were all reconditioned and refitted. I thought it went well before but the diffrence is remarkable. So I am looking forward to better fuel figures as well.

Nope
I had the bars you can see sand-blasted first. (Some firms dont sand-blast before coating). To get a proper job they must be blasted first not just cleaned.
Same firm did my wheels as well.
Then Powder coated cost was £30.00.
As all the springs and shockers were off I thought well yellow looks good.

Can I ask how much? Also did they remove them? Just one more, where were the wheels done and did they blast them? As I might need a set doing before I fit new tyres.
