2gether have failed me badly.
Off to Morocco so I called 2gether, told that they will not issue green cards for Morocco even if I were to pay for it!
The operator I spoke to was not at all interested.
I started to look for more quotes and after a few calls it was clear that my LC was incorrectly registered by 2gether on the insurance database and this has caused no end of problems in getting new quotes.
I have also found other data wrong like they have the manufacture date wrong and missed the fact that is is LHD.
So I will not be using them again. _________________ regards Lawrence |

Sorry to hear this Lawrence ...
I do know they're busy putting new systems in place to ensure this sort of thing doesn't happen.

Well, 2gether don't seem to have got their act together, I've just experienced the worst customer service I've ever had.
I had a good quote from them & took up the offer straight away, when the documents arrived through the post the proposal form was full of mistakes including the following:-
• Previous Policy Expiry Date
• Commencement Date of Policy (starting 10 days too early)
• Annual Mileage (asked for 12000, got 7000)
• Mileometer
• Date First Registered
• Vehicle Value (£1600 WTF!)
• Purchase Date
• Modified (down as unmodified)
I started off by phoning & asking for the mistakes to be corrected & was basically fobbed off & lied to. One of the blokes who works there told me the annual mileage was filled in by default by the computer & my policy was unlimited mileage!
In the end I phoned the policy underwriter who explained the Commencement Date of Policy & Annual Mileage could not be altered & the only way to proceed was to cancel the policy.
I wrote to 2gether instructing them to cancel & refund my money, which surprise surprise they didn't do. Another call to the underwriter resulted in them contacting 2gether on my behalf to get this done.
After one more delightful phone call to the boss of 2gether I did finally get a refund, minus 30 odd pounds to cover their admin charges
During the majority of my discussions with them I was made to feel like this was all my fault & treated like an idiot.
I would warn anyone to avoid this bunch like the plague.
Simon, I don't think as providers of the club insurance scheme this outfit are providing the level of service your members should expect. _________________ Brett

Hi Brett ...
I'm sorry to hear about this and I will refer this thread to Gary
With regards to 2GFS being our 'preferred broker' - that's not about to change ... yours is one of a couple of 'dissatisfied customer' reports, compared to literally hundreds of happy customers!
It's a rare occassion that 2GFS are reported as not coming up to expectations - as I say, I'll make sure Gary is aware!

I can add to this - I'm shopping for insurance right now, and 2Gether haven't even acknowledged my request, let alone provide a quote. Won't be dealing with them again, and I suggest we find someone else. _________________ I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.

I have moved to Carol Nash who have been excellent and very complete including Green Card which is rare from insurance companies these days, but essential if you are visiting North Africa etc.
If you are conned by the company who says "Yes" to everything you ask for then you will quickly find then saying "No" when you come to a claim... there are lots of reports at the momont over non disclosure issues at the moment.

As with all small insurance companies they do well on "Run of the mill" vehicles and nearly all of their business will be just that.
This "Club" caters for the "Specialist" vehicle and 2GFS don't do well in that regard.

then you should be more up fount as to why that is, for example "They sponsor this site" not because they're the best (and probably your mate...) _________________ regards Lawrence |

While 2GFS don't JUST insure modified 4x4s, (they insure ALL private vehicles, house & contents, general, life, etc), as an insurance broker, they have access to a broad range of specially underwritten schemes and CAN provide good cover at a reasonable cost for the majority of 4x4 owners.

They may not manage to provide the best policy for every owner / vehicle combination however, as above, they do offer specialised schemes for 4x4 owners - I'm not sure how you justify your generalisation that "2GFS don't do well in that regard"

Good one!
The referral commissions from 2GFS in particular (and other listed brokers to some extent) are helping to keep the 4x4 communities that I run free-to-join - I assume you have no complaints there?
If I didn't believe that it was in the Club's best interest to maintain links with 2GFS, I wouldn't do it ... to be honest, it's actually rather churlish to even suggest that it's a down to a 'deal between mates'
Sure - over the years I have developed a good relationship with Gary Haime ... we're not in each other's pocket though!

Finally got a quote from them - they've covered ALL my mods and accessories for a LOT less than the RAC wanted to give me for a standard vehicle, and includes 90 days European cover, which RAC didn't give.
Lets see how it all pans out! Marginally impressed so far! _________________ I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.

See if they will give you a green card (unless you aren't planning a trip out of the EU)? _________________ regards Lawrence |

I am insured with them, both my 80 and car. Not had a problem. One or only 2 that would give me the cover I WANTED.

Just renewed BOTH our policies with 2GFS ...
Nobody else even came close!
