Hi,
Has anyone had experience with custom exhausts for the hj60 ?
I was going to have a custom made and wondered about any implications, can one box be removed altogether or will this
affect the running?
Mines the 4.0 turbo 1990 version (toyota says its an HJ60 RJ, i think its known as HJ62)
Thanks |

Had a custom system made for my 60 (in a 40). Kept the manifold although I may have that changed soon for better breathing. No side effects at all to engine performance. Passes fine on emissions test for MOT .

I agree with Roger,it wont hurt at all and you can get a small increase of power if you turn up the fuel a little .
If the exhaust flows more freely it can handle more fuel (in moderation)
If yours is a factory turbo,it is a HJ61. The FJ62 is the same trim level with a 3F petrol engine.
The non turbo diesels are HJ60
The information is on the aluminium plaque on the fire wall _________________ 1995 HZJ75 troop carrier
