Hi folks. May I have the advantage of some learned wisdom on the oil capacity for my '93 KZJ 70 Series please? Have just bought it and need to change the engine oil. Motor is a 3.0 turbo diesel, I believe a 1KZ-TE?

Any tips or references would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

Not an expert but, 7 litres I believe. My Colorado was the 1KZ TE. There's about half a litre left in the engine even with a filter change. I used to drain my fully by winding the engine round with a socket on the crank to squeeze that out.

If not fully draining it out, try 6.5 on the level before topping it up. Not good to overfill - like the dealer always used to.

Milner off-road are excellent for spares.  Keep a check on your steering rack mounting bushes. Look underneath whilst someone rocks the steering back and forth. If the rack moves a lot, it's an mot fail. Milner can re-bush for about £50. Steers like a sports car afterwards though.

Hi buddy, thanks for that, appreciate it. Am expecting a book on the engine to arrive early next week as it happens, so all should be revealed about everything we need to know! Will keep an eye on the steering rack bushes too, thanks for the tip. Cheers, Mark
