Hi. Have searched this forum but can't find an answer to this one. I have a 1996 Colorado VX with a  TVSSIII alarm. The entry fob has not worked since I purchased the vehicle. The light on the fob works and I have tried resetting it with no joy. Anyway I have not been worried and have always used the key to enter the vehicle. There is a red light that flashes on the dash by my left knee and constantly flashes all the time whether truck is running or parked up. Again this hasn't bothered me. However today I entered the vehicle and the alarm went off and the vehicle wouldn't start and no lights on the dash at all. I lifted the bonnet and found the positive terminal on the battery was loose. I reentered the truck and again the alarm went off. It stopped after 30 odd seconds and I started the truck and drove it home. When I got home I opened the door to get out and the alarm went off. It stoped after about 30 seconds with the door locked. It now seems that the alarm is permanently armed and goes off every time I get in or get out. The flashing light by left knee is now constantly alight while driving and off when the alarm stops 30 seconds or so after I get out. Any ideas? (Have tried steps 1,2 and 3 on the sticky.)
