Hi all. My wife and I have decided a hot lap of OZ is in order. the only thing is my 300tdi disco isn't really known for it's reliability so we have been looking at 60 series cruisers as they are reasonably priced and big and simple (easier for parts and stuff) but I mostly find that they are petrol and with BIG k's. So I have been thinking about buying a petrol one and doing an engine transplant to a (standard) diesel. what are the pitfalls? I cant see too many problems but if I find one with a snorkel are the airboxes on the same side? are the exhausts similar? can you just drain the petrol and use the same fuel tank? are there other options that're better ie totally different  engines?  any help would be greatly appreciated.
