Hi All,
Attaboy TV, the makers of the Discovery Channel’s hit show Wheeler Dealers, are going into production on a new show. The new series sees two teams of breakers trying to make maximum profit from the parts they can recover from scrapped classics.
We are on the look out for a Land Cruiser, our budget is £2000, I wanted to know what would be the best engine and model to look out for?
Once we have found the car we will eventually start breaking it, so if you're in need of any parts why not get in touch – you and your beloved car could end up on the telly. We’re looking for genuine enthusiasts with great stories to tell. There is no obligation to buy and as our breakers are operating in a limited time frame, there’s a good chance you could pick up a bargain
If you’re interested contact either Tom or Michael on 020 7740 3000 (office number), PM me or reply to this thread.
I look forward to hearing from you. |

the best engines are the 4.2 liter diesel, model code 1hz, and the turbo version of that engine, the 1hd-t, and 1hd-te
(T meaning turbo and E meaning electronic injection)
these engines are found in the 80 series landcruiser amazon and i think later more modern amazons as well.
the 90s amazons are the ones you need to me looking at.
you cant pick up a land cruiser with one of these engines for 2000. your looking at 3995 to 5000.
theres also the 4.5 liter petrol version, but prices are similar.
perhaps someone else will have another opinion, but thats what i see. _________________ learning the hard way |

£2,000 will buy you rubbish. You will need £5,000 minimum.
