Talking of stupid conditions with ins companies,I'm insured with flux for my 2003 4x2 hilux, one of the conditions is that I must not use it on the Nurbergring!  I've found them awkward and not helpful, good job I'm not replacing cats eyes at Gatwick!

Insurance is about gambling ...

you gamble with a 'small' premium that you might need to claim for a big payout

The broker/insurer set the stakes and accepts your gamble with a range of conditions that means that the odds are slightly in their favour, based largely on claims experience.

They obviously know what the cost of dealing with an accident at the Nurbergring is and don't want that to be included in the odds - so they put a specific exclusion in.

I'll be honest, I always wonder what kind of business people are in when they question the terms and conditions and fees that brokers/insurers apply ... they are businesses, not charities for crying out loud.

when you do your shopping, you know that some stuff is better value from Tesco that Sainsbury, or Lidl that Waitrose ... but you don't go on forums shouting about it ... you make your own choice and crack on.

If you're not happy, then shop around for the best deal each year, but don't complain when you're simply unhappy with price and T&C.
