|
|
Afternoon folks.
I was wondering if anyone could assist with some information about replacing my 2002 100-series LC radio unit with a newer multifunctional radio/cd/aux/GPS unit? Not sure if it is possible or if anyone has any info to assist?
Thanks in advance,
Gary |

Most the aftermarket GPS units use the normal ISO connections, so an LC adaptor to ISO connector off of "da bay" and it should be good to go, some have an external GPS unit that you may need to run up just under the top of the dash or similar. (back of the pod if small enough ?)
I would recommend one with a gysoscope built in so in poor reception areas you can still get a fair response from the unit. _________________ '98 colorado VX LWB 3.4 Petrol (VZJ95 ?) |

Replaced mine with a Pioneer 1HDBT touch screen unit - fitted really easily and works great and fitted in the double din slot with no problems. I could even take out the CD stacker as the Pioneer has a built in hard drive that stores CDs as you put them in as well as an iPod connection. I now have over 40 albums stored in there with room for about another 260 albums. The GPS works well too with the antenna on the dash, get pretty much constant 8 satellites. _________________ 1999 Land Cruiser Amazon VX Active 4.2TD Auto

GREAT info. Thanks for the help. I'm busy doing all kinds of upgrades to the vehicle (incl. secondary fuel tank, fresh water tank, electricals, etc) in prep for an overland trip from London to Cape Town in 2012.... but having good music and navigation is essential Cheers, Gary |
