My '98 diesel is now eight years old and starting to show up a few electrical problems. I've recently replaced one of the steering column motors at £300 and now I'm needing the electric window switch assembly that fits in the drivers door armrest, which is another £300. It would be good to have access through the club to a breakers list for 100 series as well as 80's etc. Can anyone help? _________________ 2005 Amazon 4.2TD

Any 2nd hand switch unit will be as knackered as the one you already have. Take it apart and clean it up, then all will be well. |

Thanks for the reply, but I've done that already - 3 times in fact, including stripping the switch slider on the printed circuit board and cleaning all the contacts with proprietary switch cleaner. Having checked the slider with a meter I've confirmed that its working, but not pulling in the relay. Could be the relay thats gone or one of the numerous little IC's on the board, which is why I would like to try another switch before I buy a new one at £300. _________________ 2005 Amazon 4.2TD
