Hi all,

KDJ125 3.0 D4D 200.000 Km with this engine problem : at 2100/2200 rpm 120 Km/h it's hunting, fluctuating in power power loss but if you accelerate it clears
no engine light and no codes
new fuel filter the fuel tank was clean and there was no sediment or water
so it's scv or fuel injectors ?
thank you

Giacomo

Hi there,
My issue was hesitation under acceleration. I couldn't clear it though like you're able to. I took an educated gamble and replaced my SCVs and I've done about 5000 miles since with no problems. They do wear. I was at 120,000 miles. I experienced the problem for a little while before it gradually worsened and the check engine light eventually came on and I went to limp mode.
You could try running some fuel system cleaner through at the next fuel stop. Also, use a premium fuel like Shel V-Power.
I would consider doing what I did and install new SCVs (it's an easy DIY job) before you start going into injectors and all that.
Good luck with your problem.
Terry...

Hi Terry and thank you for answer
I already put it some fuel system cleaner and use a premium fuel like Shell V-Power,but without positive results
next step install of a new SCV

Hi @giacomo,
I realize this is an old thread.

I am going through this exact issue with my 2007 1KD 120 Auto. It is costing me a huge amount of time and money.

Any chance there was a successful outcome? If so could you please post details?

What kind of SCV has it got, long or short?

Basics - air filter, fuel filter all good and recently changed?

There was a couple of threads on this that aussiearthur got involved in Karl, the last we heard  it was with Toyota.
TonyC asked him some questions, but got no answers, and I've asked aussiearthur on one of the other threads what the outcome was, but no replies yet.
He also posted similar on another forum, but hasn't come back. 😯

Good evening gents,

Apologies for delayed response - car only back last Friday.

@karl2000 and @Tractionman - I’m hoping you saw my post on the other forum with the detailed update - I had thought perhaps not continue in this thread as no response from OP.

@karl2000 - I have installed a new SCV - the long one. And also done both fuel filters, map filter, map sensor, air filter, all vacuum hoses, full egr clean and more recently, the injectors. Tried getting this all done up first. Now getting desperate with going to Toyo.
