Hello, just registerd to the site.

I have a question regarding the heater matrix on an X reg Colarado.  I have been quoted well over £1000 to change it, the mechanic said that the parts can only be obtained from a Toyota franchise.  Is there any other possible suppliers or is there any other cheats I could try to avoid changing it.

Thanks for any help.

Duncan.

Several suppliers if you scour the 'net. Non-genuine parts start at around £65. Roughtrax offer one at about £109, but I think my local mechanic had the last one in stock just before Christmas  - hopefully they restock. Amayama will do a genuine Toyota part for about £300 with the usual caveats about delivery and import costs. A fair bit of dismantling involved to replace it so labour charges will be quite high if you don't DIY.
