Having had my 155 (3door)now since Jan 2010 and not posted much on here because it has been so reliable.
I decided that my Sat Nav system was so out of date that I seemed to be doing more driving across blank terrain than on roads, that an update was needed.
I logged onto the Toyota Map Update site https://www.toyota-mapupdates.eu/ and selected an update that the site said was for me. I paid online €174 and waited a week and the discs arrived. I put disc No. 1 in the slot selected map update and pressed the button, the system then said unrecognised media.
Emailed Toyota and was told I must be doing some thing wrong.
Turns out the site sold me the wrong update, so I asked for a refund, which was refused because I had opened the packet! The cannot tell me how to test the update without opening the packet.
It seems that it can only be done at a dealership.
Now 3 months later they are still refusing to give me a refund.
Do not use this Toyota site they are thieves |

I bought a new HDD with the latest Satnav version and up to date maps. Took me around half an hour to replace the HDD and it booted up and worked first time. They even sent me step by step videos.
Cost around $150 inc. shipping.

I know but, after numerous enquiries to both the Toyota dealer and Toyota directly, I was led to believe that only the dealers could update Satnavs and at an exorbitant charge! That said, even then, they never gave me a definitive answer.
The HDD swap was a much better option. |
