Hopefully the Landcruiser collective can help us solve our current predicament.

About 6 months into ownership of our lovely Landcruiser LC5, the underside has decided to reveal the full extent of it's corrosion! Whilst driving along the mounts broke clean off the rear axle leaving the back axle of the car essentially disconnected from the chassis. Woops!

Our friendly local mechanics have asked us to hunt down a rear axle and some new front shocks (as the cups are rotten on these as well.)

Our big question is about the replacement rear axle. We have found a couple of 120 rear axles but are unsure on the compatibility. Ours is an auto LC5 and we want to make sure that the replacement rear axle has the same mountings and ratios. Does anyone know if they the same across the whole 120 range or do we have to be careful about the axle we find?

We spoke to Toyota regarding one of the axles we found from another 120 and they said the part numbers are different.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so we can get the car back on the road.

Not sure if this is going to fit your model, but might be worth looking into REAR AXLE

Thank you Andy. I will take a look.

I found one for £350 but not sure if it is right.

I will speak to Milner Offroad regarding their part. I was hoping to fit a used part as the car is clearly slightly worse for wear underneath.

Maybe you could consider swapping the diffs around if the axle looks similar .
