I was underneath the front of my 2006 Landcruiser today, replacing the front undershield which had rotted away. I'm very pleased by my lump of 3mm steel, laser cut and bent by my local sheet metal firm, all for £50, including a couple of other parts I needed in the same material. A real bargain. Just got to drill it to fit now.

As I was busy fettling, I noticed a drip of oil from the sump drain area. I had seen this before and blamed oil from the rubber pipe that drains spillage from Oil filter changes. Wrong! There is a rust hole in the forward facing side of this little sump, through which oil feels free to pass! I am currently letting the oil drain out before removing the sump and seeing whether I can weld it up. Does anybody out there have one of these parts laid about? Toyota wants £136 for one. Breakers won't separate the small sump from the big sump it fastens onto so are asking around £300!

Can't take a joke shouldn't have joined I suppose?  bandhead

You Sir are a gentleman! Order placed with Milners - yippee!

So nice when you don't get this sort of advice the day after you pay Toyota £136 (plus, plus etc).

Thank you again, Dave Very Happy
