Trouble starting 100 series 4.2 diesel

2001 4.2 Amazon having problems starting where the cold or hot  Sometimes start straight away Other times it takes 10 times turnover stop turnover stop then start The timing sensor under the diesel pump was leaking so replaced that still the same has anybody had the same problem

Have you tried pumping the fuel primer on top of the filter, and then try starting.

Many thanks that’s the next thing as well as a non-return valve in the diesel line to see if that works should be fairly cheap fix if that’s the problem👌

i had a similar problem with my 1998 LC. After a lot of trouble shooting it turned out to be fungus around the key barrel that was breaking contact whilst turning the key. you might want to check that out if you havent fixed the problem alteady.
