All good for another year then Dave, glad it's out of the way for you now.

Thank you TM. For a 15 year old car, I can't complain, that's the first time it's not passed first time and it wasn't down to Toyota, but a third party tow bar electrics.

Dave

Wish I could say it’s all down to tlc, but mechanically, never had a problem. Spent some on getting it undersealed with Mercasol and had the alloys cleaned and sprayed. Other than that, just regular consumables.

That's amazing mate. Underbody rust is the killer on 120s, as you know, so proper protection is everything.
Karl and I have this summer, spent a lot of weeks under ours prepping and getting all areas done with various applications.
Have you never had injectors/seals or scv done Dave ? Usual suspects in poor running or wrecked engines ?

Had injector seals done under recall years ago. Otherwise, just an annual service. Had the cambelt changed at 10 years as it was (and still is) below 100k miles. But it’s parked outside, too big for my garage, so open to the elements all year round.

Right now, I have a kit to dehaze the headlights as they’ve got ‘cataracts’, but need to find somewhere I can get it indoors to sort them out as the weather is too unpredictable to do outdoors.

I bought the cruiser in preference to a Landrover because I specifically needed the reliability. Too many horror stories about LRs.

Good to hear Dave, one to hold on to.  I think most of us are the same, standard garage doesn't suit a cruiser, manly on height.
Just done my lights pre mot, usually have to do it several times a year depending on sun output, poor plastic.
Yep, dead right with Toyota reliability, my 1992 lj78 around 15 years in my possession since import, never ever let me down, so I had to have another.
