Hi Again.
Now I am not sure if Amayama has the axle in stock. I have to wait for yet another email to confirm it.
Regards

I'm not sure whats happening now, as you previously said Amayama were permanently out of stock, and a landrover 4×4 place could fix it ???. Good luck with whatever comes. |

Hi
I will let the LR guys have a go at making a repair. I think that will be OK.
The Amayama trading company said the axle case was out of stock. Now they say its ready for delivery. Also the DHL price has gone up to £669.00. plus axle price £484.00. No idea whats going on.
Anyway I will go ahead with the repair.
regards

Hi Again.
Milners phoned me today to say they have an axle casing for me.
Great, get the job done how it should be. Adds value to the old girl.

Surprise, surprise eh ?
A good compromise with cost that, between a gen. casing and a repair of old.
Now the work starts !!
Make sure everything you strip off/out of the old casing is top notch before refitting to new, if in doubt replace it, its easier to work with the axle off, and get a good coat of paint on it, dont rely on how it comes. All this will save you time/grief in future. |

I had had an email alert since before Christmas for the rear axle case coming back into stock - since I hadn't had any update I gave them a ring this week to check on the situation. I was told that the supplier has said that it will be 4-5 months before any new axle casings will be in stock.
So it looks like I'm going to have to continue with my Heath Robinson repairs _________________ '97 VZJ95 - Colorado 3.4V6 with LPG, 40mm Ironman SL, full SS exhaust, 265/75R16 Hankook Dynapro RF10s on 80 alloys and 195k+ |

Well, that's odd, considering they have recently informed locodriver they have one for him ? |

Hi guys
My axle change is now underway. I have cleaned and painted the trailing arms, panhard rod and anti roll bar today.
When Milners phoned me I think they had a delivery of three axles. Not sure what type ( mine has ABS and diff lock) you don't get the actuator with the axle. I should be on the road again soon.
I have also changed all the bushes and brake pipes. Its all costing a few quid but the LC is worth it. To make sure you get an axle casing phone Milners and get yourself on their LIST...
Regards

Well done Paul. Sounds like you are making a proper job of it, and it will pay off in the long run.
Thanks for your update mate, always interested how things go. 😃
Good advice to anyone wanting a casing 👍 |

Hi Guys
Back axle is now fitted and the replacement is now complete. New bushes and brake pipes.
The value of my LC must be above average now. Its cost a few quid but worth it..

👍Great news mate, and we'll done. Yep, cost a few quid, especially with the 'extras' I mentioned originally, all to be expected when replacing/refurbing an item such as the axle which has so many other components relative to the vehicle
Another one saved to be enjoyed. 🤗 |

Nor me mate, a bit too technical for me.
Andy posted recently on another thread how to do it, but I can't find it now. |
