Hi,
Could your hinge be repaired?
I had one which was a bit worn and I was able to fix it by reaming the hole a bit bigger and fitting a new pin.
Just a thought.

I had a Ford Cortina like that you bought door hinge pins and just knocked the old ones out and put the new ones in, Back when life was simple. |

I had a ford Cortina back in the day you would just tap the old pins out and knock the new ones in life was simple. |

There is actually a little bronze bush (folded bit of woven bronze or something) in the genuine hinge, thats what wears out/gets pushed out.. You can fit a larger pin, ok and will last a while, but it will wear quicker. |

Hi Dave,
I reamed my top hinge about 10 years ago. I put a bolt though it and its been OK ever since. The hole and bolt were a very good fit ( Not sloppy) so its still OK.
I wish it was easy to post pictures on this forum . I would send you some pics
