Good result in the (expensive) end.
All these things take time to do properly for lasting life, so time well spent,  anyone can sling it together.

Good to know that there is still interest in my rather long painful and pocket emptying experience, I am sure however that I have an almost new engine with the latest pistons and power upgrade.

You asked about the cost Karl; my total investment was just under £12k, a full report with photographs of the old engine internals will be made available when I get time to piece everything tgether.

If there is anyone in the North East who would like to get together and compare notes, PM me and we can arrange a meet to further discuss the pains of dealing with a blown 120 series engine.

I have some interesting original 2008 120 series parts for sale if anyone is interested: 3rd row of cream leather seats, front bumper, side steps, original underbody protection, shocks & springs.

Thanks for the info - be very interested in the write up when you get time.  12K - yep its a lot of money, but you've basically got a new engine now!!!   Rather spend money on that than 12K on a second hand boring ford or sommat.  Plus another one saved - well done.
