Hi all, looking in to purchasing a dongle or scanner for use with resetting car, diagnosing faults and so on. What do you suggest? I had a look in the 'electrics' section of the forum but just found old dead posts.

Its a program you load onto a laptop (preferably windows 7 or vista , windows 10 can be done but its a much harder to load onto) that comes with a usb cable and a plug that plugs into the diagnostic socket under the drivers side of the dash its a copy version of what Toyota dealer tecs use , can be had on e bay for between 12 to 15 quid . I would not load it onto a laptop that you use for banking etc or use for internet use just incase with it being a copy as you do not know if it has been loaded with info scammers etc . best load it and use it on a old laptop that you can just use for the tecstream that has no internet access .
