HI,

We’re just about to embark - next week - on a 3000km journey in a 4.2VX 1999,  and the heat to the passenger foot-well has failed to arrive. This means my dear wife will have to drive from the traditional back seat position, rather than her usual spot. Is this a normal fault, (with the car, not her)?

Thanks,  Paul

Have you checked the cooland levels - it could be that there is air in the system preventing the heat getting to the heater core properly.

Hi,

Thanks for that, I'll go and check. There is heat everywhere else, though.

Cheers,

Paul

Could be one of the cables is not opening the footwell flap, they some times stick.

Hi Paul

sound more like a flap to that footwell is jammed shut, have a look on the drivers side and find the outlet for the hot air, then look on the other side and find the air duct, and see if the flap is shut !

Not too sure on that year, but does it have heat settings for either side?
if so that might have the answer
