We enjoyed the 4x4 weekend at Lincomb Farm last year so much, we decided to do it again - not once but twice!
The first weekend will be April 19-21 with a similar format to that of last September - setting camp on the Friday with an easy trip round some of the trails, followed, on Saturday, by a full day on the tracks and trails before an evening barbie and a beer or two. Sunday gives further opportunity to play before breaking camp (or just making toast on the embers of the campfire).
The second weekend is planned for September 19-21 and we thought we might try a green lane day on the Saturday - perhaps the one detailed in Total 4x4 (Feb issue) - before a barbie and beer evening back at the farm.
Take a look at the pictures from last September's weekend which are displayed under Event Reviews - Lincomb Farm - it's technically challenging and non-damaging in a beautiful part of the country that is close to the M40/M5.
At this stage, we'd like to know if you are interested in joining us for either one or both weekends.

Regards,
TonyS (modified 80 series) & Rodger (modified BJ40)

PostPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2008 13:21    Post subject: April Date amendment Reply with quote

It would appear that the `calendar reading for beginners' course was wasted on me as I managed to post the WRONG dates in April for Lincomb Farm  2008.
They should have been and are: Friday April 18th - Sunday April 20th.
The September dates remain as originally posted.
Apologies for the error and thanks to those who have already expressed their interest.

Regards,
Rodger

Hi All,

The first weekend (19th/20th April) at Lincombe Farm looks like it is going to be great fun. Laughing  Laughing  This event is also being advertised on ELCO through clubs members Julian Voelcker/TonyS and Rodger. There has been a limited response from on this site so Crying or Very sad  any members who wish to go will need to register and fill out a disclaimer Confused  Shocked (As is normal with most offroading events) via the attached link. http://www.landcruisers.info/LincombIntro.html  Laughing
This is not a club event nor are there any discounts for club members. However, there is a 'Menu' of prices which seem very fair and reasonable and are the same for everyone. Cool  Or you can just go along for the social side. Cool
I am sadly not going to this event as I have other commitments, I am sure I will be going to the September event though.

Wishing everyone who goes all the best  (And yes, I am jealous Crying or Very sad )

Rgds

Thanks Trev for your reply. This will be a good weekend, from a good social to workshop maintenance ,to greenlaning, and some serious winching/off roading, for those who want.We will try to cover all areas.
Above all its a good get together with good company.
Cheers,Tony.

It's shaping up to be a fun weekend, we have 10 vehicles coming so far and around 16 people for the Saturday evening.

Some are coming for the whole weekend, others are coming just for the Saturday, which is OK, we have the flexibility for that.

The key thing for those interested in coming is to register as soon as possible via the link above so that we can track the numbers - the last thing we want is people registering at the last minute and then not being able to accomodate them.

Can't do 18th weekend, going Bambibashing up in Scotland. That's a shame. Will have to look at second date - when it's wetter!

Morning All,

As we draw close to the weekend are there any more of you that want to come?

So far we have 17 vehicles and around 30 people, so it is building up to quite a fun weekend.

Just to respond to a few queries we have had:

1. If you want to come for just one night, just for the day, etc then no problem, we have made it as flexible as possible.

2. We still need to sort out if we are going to run any special courses/training sessions, we have had a mixed take up on this so far.

3. If you are camping and haven't booked meals, that's fine, however it would be nice if you can book yourself in for the Saturday evening meal - we are aiming this to be a hog roast and we need the numbers up to make it worthwhile.

4. If you are camping, please send in your camping fees, details are in the email that you would have received when registering.

5. If you want to change or update your registration info, use the link in the email you received when registering.

6. The weekend is intended for Land Cruiser owners, but if you or a friend wants to come along in a lesser model, you will certainly be welcome Wink

Finally, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me on my mobile - 07971 540362.

I look forward to seeing you next weekend.

What  great weekend we just had. The weather was good to us through saturday,so some great off roading went on.Full expedition equipped 80s, serious off roaders. 120s,100s,70s and a 40,and the brand new V8,all shiny and new.

Zero experience off road to some who have been at it for years.

A top bunch of lads and lasses, many travelling from north yorks or south london.Great to see the miles didnt matter.

ToyotaUK dropped in a great trailer with all the tea and coffee we could drink,so a big thanks there.

Thanks to all who attended, and Julian for Everything.

See you on the next one.

Cheers,Tony.
