|
|
With the Diesel prices soaring to all time high, I was reading a few posts on using Veg oil. Have a couple of question and would be grateful if I could get an answer:
1.Will the fuel pump on my LJ70 1991 2.4 TD, work OK with the 40% Veg Oil and 60% diesel?
2.Do I have to get a heat exchanger for the Veg oil or can I just go to the Tesco and buy the Veg oil and mix and use with one?
3.Has any one used veg oil in one of these (2.4 TD) engines and if yes is a 40%, 60% a good mix?
Thanks all in advance,

A lot of the Surf guys use a mixture of veg and diesel with the 2L-TE engine which I think is the same as yours.
50% mix in the summer and 25% - 30% in the winter without any other mods.
I also use the above mix in my cars.
Huge thread all about it here.

Thanks for the quick answer and the great web site!
one final question: where is my fuel filter located as on the site it is recommending to change the filter and have one extra before I mix?
Thanks again,

Your filter is on the left side between your battery and bulk head under the bonnet, ( its round from the top with a black round thing on top for priming/pumping diesel to the filter (bleeding) and theres a couple of rubber fuel pipes and arrows next to the pipes giving direction, hope this helps) i would also recommend a diesel injector cleaner as well great for the emmisions and MOT time.. cheers and hope this helps |
