Picked up a used key fob from e bay today for 0.99p and was prepared to reset as per Landcrushers excellent post but tried swapping inards first from broken one to e bay one just to see if it would work "out of the box".

Works like a dream - well chuffed!

Why is sometimes the simplest fixes leave you with the biggest smiles?

£1.99 for the postage was a bit steep however slightly better than the £125.00 quoted by local Toyota for a new fob!

Will try Landcrushers reset with the spare parts when I get a mo to have a fiddle behind the dash!!

thanks to everyone who contributes the great advice available on the forums - it's already saved me a small fortune!

Does anyone have a pic of what the TVSS remote fob should look like for a Colorado?

Hi guys, can someone tell me what the alarm box looks like, I have acquired a spare fob that needs setting to vehicle, I pulled the centre tim off around radio etc and I can see a black box about 4" square with a white multi plug going into it, this is down near the tunnel ? I felt around it but couldn't identify any kind of reset button, I guess it's the wrong box ?

Cheers, Paul

Looking at the black box again, it has a blue and white sticker on it that says TOYOTA ECU IMMOBILISER.

Sorry guys, I must look a right muppet, found the box, well hidden but once the radio was removed and traced the wires back from the LED, green button reset pressed and I now have two working fobs.

Cheers, Paul
