I would think that HL and LL are when the centre diff is locked, hence the L part of it, so would not want to drive on the road like that as it would cause wind up in the transmission.

Driving in HL does not cause wind up in the transmission. It's the centre diff. Each 'axle' still has a fully working diff running left and right. You can engage a 120 diff on the fly at up to motorway speed. ( and I do) 'Normal' cornering (A-road style) is not a problem. I think that if you are towing at that speed, you need to slow down. Cornering when parking or at junctions does get a bit stiff with CDL locked and is not sensible; you are asking too much if on a dry road Towing in LL is only when when truly stuck. You're not likely to get up to much of a speed in LL even in top gear.

If you engage CDL in conditions such as standing water, you will notice a considerable improvement in grip and stability.

All of this is covered in the owner's handbook supplied with the vehicle.

No probs - but do remember that your max weight for towing on the LC 120 is 2800kgs. Disco 3 is now 3500kg.
