Working up a very muddy farm track at the time!!!
Had passed through here twice the previous day, this time it just sunk straight in!!! It was the first vehicle ever to have got up the valley. On this occasion I was pulled out by a 3 ton digger on tracks.
Had to find another way out so put seatbelt on and drove about 100 yards up the side of the valley onto a track, it's alot steeper than it looks, wasn't sure I would make it but it cruised up no problem!!!
Cutting the fence was not a problem, it is the next fence on our list to replace, very handy!!!!

Bit of a bummer getting stuck with those tyres on Rob.
That hill looks kinda steep, bravery pills and go for it syndrome. _________________ Les

In hindsight I should have driven through much quicker!!! Will know for next time!!! The tyres do make a huge difference off road, but don't know that any rubber would have got me out of that bog . As for the exit up the hill, it's having trust in those Coopers and that big beast of a 4.2 .

Hello Rob,
There are 2 schools of thought with going fast. or maybe 3, but we can leave that one for the recovery guy's.
Firstly, sure, momentum is your friend, and can some times get you enough of the way through to reach decent ground so the tyres can do their stuff.
However, momentum can also mean a longer winch out if the ground does not improve before the momentum runs out on you.
Oh well, nothing a good car wash in an unknown town won't sort out.
I don't much mind getting the outside all muddied up, it's when the engine bay needs a full clean, then there is the electrics, and the alternator to be worried about.
Land crusher had all too much fun with his alternator.
Then there is the fact that getting in and out ofd the cruiser really messes up the inside.
thats the worst of it for me. |

The crazy bit is that two foot in front of the truck is a stream, nearly made it!!! Got through both ways the day before by flooring it, thought i'd try the softly softly approach for a change!!!! The beast is my only vehicle, used for work and pleasure, but I do manage to keep it quite clean and tidy, no mean feat with three kids and a mother-in-law!!!!!

Thank god, four out of my five girls have left home.
The Dobermann has the huge boot all to himself now. _________________ Les
