Hello,
I am mildly considering a snorkel.
From what I see there is the ARB Safari
or the
TJM Airtech.
I would imagine they both work in the same way, are may be rather similar in installation.
I would like to know the forum opinion of which looks best, most pleasing to look at.
Whichever one I may finaly end up with, I don't know.
The Safari one was priced about 317.00 and theTJM about 220.00
Why is this, ?
I will be getting it professionally painted the same colour silver as the vehicle.
I did here that with the TJM snorkel, you can not reverse the upper breather head through 180 deg. to point rearwards? can some one confirm or deny this.

I think the TJM's come in two styles, the single piece ones like I've got that you can't turn the head on and the more traditional style with the detacheable / rotatable head. I went with the single piece jobby because on my 80 the Safari snorkel I had, the main reason I needed to turn the head round was because it stuck out so far and kept getting pulled off You'd have to get a bit creative to fit a pre filter to the fixed head ones though. _________________ Jon m0zxj

x-post from teh 90 tech forum - there's an LCOOL article here about the Safari snorkel and supposed benefits on a 120. Julian has a good price for me on the Safari, and I'll be getting him to fit one - not for swimming, but after seeing how filthy the air filter was and how much muck was in the bottom of the air filter box, it's got to be worth it ... |
