Hi 'vette.
No to all. They did not have the computer setup at all. They said this was just as good.
The rear clamps had degree markings on a plate that sat 90 degrees to the wheel / car.
The front ones then drew a line with the laser on the plate. They adjusted the steering until the line was on zero degrees.
I one hit a big pothole in the freelander which sent everything out of whack. I took it to another company who spent ages on the full computer setup and it was perfect afterwards. I'll go back to them (they did not have the tyre I needed hence to new people)
I'll go on Saturday again and see what they say.
I refuse to believe it is beyond adjustment once it leaves the Toyota factory _________________ Cheers,

Hi Crispin,
Sorry to hear of your frustrations. FWIW I was advised by Kwikfit to go to one of their branches that did have the full computer set-up. The guy said that my 80 was too large for their clamp-on laser system. As the 120 is not that much smaller, I would suspect that this might have been the case for you yesterday.
Stick to your guns - sometimes the bolts etc are too tight and they fiddle around and then give up, even if it means giving your money back. In adjusting my LC, Kwikfit had to use a blow-torch to loosen a few of the nuts! From what I recall, the full computer set-up is (was) about £50 and you also get a nice print-out of the entire steering geometry by wheel with caster, toe-in, camber etc.
As you say, this is fixable!

Hi Andrew,
I will be trying the original guys (Supa-Tyres I think they called) on Saturday. It was £80 (will try Kwik-Fit if they cheaper) and they gave me a before and after print out.
Just come back from a 200 mile round trip and it's much better but still not right. It also seems to drift easier now from lane to lane. Almost like you are balancing on a knife edge and it'll drift either way pretty easily.
Also not convince the wheels are balanced. These were balanced by the first lot. Maybe they put the wheel on a broom stick and looked to see where the heaviest part was
Will see what happens on Saturday... _________________ Cheers,

This is a sorry saga. I have had 2 90 series and I have had both tracked. I go to my local chaps who have been around since T Rex (the dinosaur not the band) in a leaky old shed down the rod. They strap on the wheel clamps and lasers and a couple of swings on a large wrench, I'm outta there for a few quid. There is nothing trick here. Now, I'm wondering if you have something else askew. Like a bush. You can alter the suspension geometry on a 90 by moving the cam on the bottom arm. I wonder if someone has tinkered with that in the past. I think that would be a specialist set up.
