Hi,

Is the red button at the top of the automatic gears the overdrive button (mine is in japaneese)?

I tried to turn the red button on / off to see if the overdrive light on the dashboard went on or off it didnt. Do i need to be driving when i engage it?

I have mine off
Do I want it on and if so why

No.

That button allows you to move the gearstick out of park when the engine isn't running - for instance to get clearance to remove the dashboard or ashtray.

Overdrive button is on the side of the auto gearstick.
