Hi guys,
Well I had a quiet weekend so decided to do the storage boxes and drop down table in the back of my truck. The boot boxes are made from 18mm and 12mm MDF. The 18mm was used for the main box and the 12mm used for the drawers. All the drawers are on full extension runners from B&Q and some of them are double or even tripple layerd. I have designed boxes so that I can still use the 3rd row seats without having to remove the boxes first. They are covered in Burmatex Sidewalk/Cordiale in Houston Blue........it took me months to find this carpet and stuck down using spray contact adhiesive. On the inside of the drawers I used toolbox foam from Halfords and used an old soldering iron to cut the foam and form the holes for the tools etc. The hardwear on the drawer fronts is from Focus.
The drop down table is made from 6mm MDF and I used the original trim as the template. It is covered in the same carpet as the boxes and stuck down in the same manner as the boxes. I used the original clips recessed into the board to mount the unit to the door and the table is held in place when down by a single lenth of picture wire. The wire runs under the table thus adding extra support and reduce sagging. I have made the table deep enough to accomodate a double burner and when stowed away it self latches under the door handle. The table is hinged with a piano hinge that runs full length of the table, again making it a bit more stable.
I am now looking forward to taking the old girl out and making myself a cup of tea on the new table

Seriously thats a very nice job. Well done Sir.
I'm still looking for inspiration for my 80 series. Leaning towards drawers then I think of racks and boxes - still cant decide. Ho hum. _________________ HDJ80, BFG AT's, grooved discs, OME 850/860's

I have gone for thunderpole as that is a name that I remember from my childhood and I reckon that if they have lasted that long then they must be ok
