Damn, that IS good. I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if I could add that to my Christmas list. Would it be OK to leave the head on, or is just the handle better?

OK, I think we had better stop there before we get into trouble with The Tinker's Rucksack Association!

My name isn't Chris it's, umh, Albert. Yes, Albert and I live in, err, Spain.

Do you have Memory Map Jim?

Unfortunately not..

I usually pick a route on a land ranger map and then check the legalities on Trailwise, which I have found to be the most up to date resource, short of waiting for a reply from the council. Of course, if there's a sign or something on the lane when I arrive I won't drive it.

The days between Xmas and New year look like this, I'm still not sure how to play this to make it worth the travel for most.

I can do any of these days.

Sunday 27th
Monday 28th
Tuesday 29th
Wednesday 30th

We could all meet up at a campsite in the afternoon (I know just the place if needed) spend a night there and then set off early (ish) in the morning for a days lanning ending up on the Strata for the second night.

or

We could meet up somewhere near the Strata (I'm four hours away so I could not get there until around midday) have a few hours lanning ending up sleeping on the Strata and then the following day do some more lanes before going our own ways.

or

We could do something else???  Laughing

Ok guys, I'm gonna see if I can pick up where 24seven left off. I need to speak to the better half and make sure she's not planned anything for between christmas and new year (I seem to remember the possibility of a trip to York for one night, but I've slept since). If the dates are clear then I'm willing to go ahead with the planning.

The lanes would be more northern but I would include Strata aswell and stretch the trip over 2-3days, and have a wild camp at least one night. If this sounds appealing to anyone please say so below and add any ideas you think would make the trip better Wink

Jim.

Sorry Paul I should have been more specific, I was looking for people to post back if they were still interested in joining a small convoy along the wonderful welsh lanes for two or three days, even though it would be centered slightly more northerly. I did see your earlier post, sorry for any confusion.

I may take you up on your offer though if anyone's still up for a trip out. Are there any areas of wales you, er, 'specialise' in?

Thanks Rob Cool

Jon, can I not pursuade you to extend your trip? or perhaps we could meet up for one day? I'd love to see that beast of a 100 in action Twisted Evil  Razz

Does the 28th-30th suit others? I'm gonna plan a route and see if I can keep it down to two days one night but might have to extend it over the three if I can find enough tempting lanes.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to camp (or wild camp) round Elan Valley/Rhayader sort of area? Just in case...
